14-day no-cook emergency food list for a family

Build a two-week list of familiar, shelf-stable foods with household quantities and a manual can opener.

Build meals before counting packs

Start with the meals your family usually eats. Choose ready-to-eat, shelf-stable alternatives and include the utensils they require. A tin is a package, not a universal serving. Read each label and decide how much each person normally needs. The simulator now calculates packs of named foods automatically. Each product has a reference size and a daily shopping allowance; details and total amounts are available if you need to adjust them. These are editable planning assumptions, not official nutrition requirements.

Make every portion suitable

Keep infants on a separate feeding plan. For children, adapt textures and portion sizes. Check ingredients against allergies and prescribed restrictions: selecting a preference does not certify a product as safe. A plant-based example changes the protein suggestion, but does not check all nutrition or labels.

Keep storage and cooking practical

Choose small packs when refrigeration may be unavailable. Add raw grains or dried foods only if safe water and safe cooking are available. Include a manual opener, bowls, cups and cutlery. Camp stoves and charcoal grills must not be used indoors. Rotate food before expiry and follow storage instructions.
